Jesus opens and closes the Olivet discourse with what phrase? How can we put this into practice?BIB 547-1-11-2

The desolation Jesus spoke of in Luke 21:20-21 was a warning to the Gentiles from a past event, “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city.” This gave the people of the Way a heads up to get out of Jerusalem before the destruction of 70 AD.
When Jesus spoke to Matthew about the abomination of desolation he was referring to the end days when the Antichrist would desecrate the Temple and declare war on the Jews; the Jews were to seek refuge at Petra.
Jesus opens the discourse with a warning against deception. In Matthew, Jesus closes with the warning of coming judgment and in Luke to be ready for the coming of Jesus for His Church.
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.” Matthew 24:4-5 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25:46
“For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.” Mark 13:22-23 “What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!” Mark 13:37
Luke 13:8, He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.” Luke 13:36, “Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
The deception of the Antichrist will be somewhat analogous of the spiritual blindness that Jesus pronounced upon Israel when they did not know the time of their visitation. During the tribulation many hearts will have been so hardened against God that it will be like a spiritual blindness. Those of us who count ourselves as being saved should emerge ourselves in the Word while making the bringing of more into the kingdom a priority.
Wilfred Hahn has a series of articles published on the Rapture Ready website titled “Prophecy: Right- or Wrong-Headed?” The following is a quote from Part 1:
“While deep knowledge of the Bible is not necessary for salvation, at the same time, the Bible is a document that is specifically inspired by the Holy Spirit to impart all the written information that is crucial for followers of Jesus Christ to know, in matters of faith, life and prophecy. If we study the entire counsel of the Bible, we will be less inclined to give vent to baseless speculations.”
