God's word is predicated on two critical discoveries.... 522 - 01-1

That the Bible is an Integrated Message System Is attested to by the many patterns seen throughout the Bible. Animal sacrifices started in the garden, continued through the sacrifice of the Lamb of God on the cross and will be re-initiated during the millennium. That the Bible is provable from outside our time domain is verified by hundreds of prophecies fulfilled over the eons. God is outside of linear time as we know it and knows the end from the beginning. To me these two attributes of the Bible are critical to the understanding of God's word because one approaches the Bible with a more open and receptive mind. It also enables the Christian apologist to stand firm on biblical truth when debating those who are in unbelief.

I've heard it said that Genesis and Revelation are newly mirror images of each other. Genesis starts with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and Revelation ends with the coming of the New Jerusalem. God first taught Adam and Eve the necessity of a blood sacrifice, in this case to procure animal skins for their protection. Eons later Jesus shed his blood to cover our sins.
One of the many patterns In the Bible is the Scarlet Thread that starts in Genesis with the seed of the woman. Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her’s; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

When departing Egypt God told Moses, Exodus 12:7, “And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.”

One of the interweaving of the Scarlet Thread was the story of sons of the unusual union of Judah and his daughter-in-law Tamar. Genesis 38:29-30, “And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez. And afterward came out his brother that had the scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah. Pharez/ Perez was in the line of Jesus.

The Scarlet Thread was present with Rahab who also was in the line of Jesus. Hanging a Scarlet Thread from her window saved her life as well as those of her family.

God's Unconditional Promise to David seemed to be negated when He pronounced a blood curse on the male descendants of Jeconiah. Since King David was running out of male heirs it appeared that the Messiah could not come from the line of King David through his son Solomon. So the line to the Messiah descended from King David through his son Nathan to Mary and to the virgin birth.

Although Animal sacrifices will occur during the millennium, for Christians, Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and, as Jesus said, it is finished!
