A word study on “disobedience” and just how might we provoke God as the rebels did in Numbers 14? 542 - 5 - 3

Disobedience:
Romans 5:19, “For as by one man's disobedience (G3876) many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Actually this was God’s solution to the fall. Those claiming that works must be added to the free gift of justification provided by the death of Jesus on the cross would/ will, IMO, provoke God.
2 Corinthians 10:6, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience (G3876), when your obedience is fulfilled.” Paul says that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal” and verse 13, “But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.” Pride is a provocation to God so I suggest boasting would be an equivalently.
Ephesians 2:2, “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (G543):” How God must be provoked with the lack of morals as society slips further down the path leading to the wide gate of destruction.
Ephesians 5:6, “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience (G543).” So many are so willingly deceived.
Colossians 3:6, “For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: (G543)” Oops, not a good outcome due to provoking God.
Hebrews 2:2, “For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience (G3876) received a just recompence of reward;” A little OT, as He was born a man Jesus was made lower than the angels, through His obedience He now sits at the right hand side of God.
G3876
παρακοή
parakoē
par-ak-o-ay'
From G3878; inattention, that is, (by implication) disobedience: - disobedience.
G543
ἀπείθεια
apeitheia
ap-i'-thi-ah
From G545; disbelief (obstinate and rebellious): - disobedience, unbelief.
Numbers 14:27, “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur (H3885) against me? I have heard the murmurings (H8519) of the children of Israel, which they murmur (H3885) against me.”
H3885
לין    לוּן
lûn  lîyn
loon, leen
A primitive root; to stop (usually over night); by implication to stay permanently; hence (in a bad sense) to be obstinate (especially in words, to complain): - abide (all night), continue, dwell, endure, grudge, be left, lie all night, (cause to) lodge (all night, in, -ing, this night), (make to) murmur, remain, tarry (all night, that night).
H8519
תּלנּה    תּלוּנה
telûnâh  telûnnâh
tel-oo-naw', tel-oon-naw'
From H3885 in the sense of obstinacy; a grumbling: - murmuring.
So through their murmurings against God and their unbelief, “by implication to stay permanently” or in this case another 38 years in the wilderness. In our case, although justified, murmuring may result in being cast into the outer darkness/ loss of our potential inheritance.
