two witnesses are in Revelation 11 546 - 5 -2

Elijah and Moses will, in my opinion, be the two witnesses in Revelation 11.

When Pharaoh would not release the Israelite's God used Moses to call down 10 plagues on Egypt. Each plague was a repudiation of one of the Egyptian gods. The final plague of the death of the firstborn was in response to Pharaoh’s plan of killing the firstborn of the Israelite's.

The plague of waters turned to blood will be repeated during the tribulation as will be painful boils and huge hail stones. Just as there was a profound darkness that could be felt by the Egyptians, this will also be repeated during the tribulation. There will be creatures that sting and cause so much pain and that people will seek to die but will not be able to. These will be far worse than the locusts is that invaded Egypt.

Through God Elijah was able to “Shut heaven from rain” a feat that will the repeated during the tribulation. Elisha could also call down fire from heaven, also to be repeated during the tribulation.

The two witnesses of Revelation will be hated and blamed for the plagues, fire and drought by the people. The two witnesses will preach the need for repentance for 3 ½ years. At the end of this three and half years the two witnesses will be assassinated and lay in the streets of Jerusalem rotting for three days. There will be great celebration by the people during these three days. The party will come to an abrupt end when the world is able to see the two witnesses come back to life and ascend into heaven.

As an aside, “God Heard Their Cry” is one of the Faith Lessons Series with Ray Vander Laan. In this series Mr. Vander Laan presents an in-depth study of the plagues as they related to the various Egyptian gods.

As an aside two:

Genesis 5:21-24, "And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."

Enoch was spared any possibility of dying in the flood. The death of his son Methuselah kicked off the flood. I wonder how corrupted the descendants of Enoch became as many must have been alive at the time of the flood.
