The primary validation of Jesus as the Christ is that He fulfills the OT prophecies. E - 501 - 1 - 6

I've answered related discussion questions before so this DQ was more of a trip down memory lane. There are so many prophecies to write about beginning with the seed of the woman in Genesis. Here God got around the blood curse that He would later declared on Jehoiakim. Of course in the interim there was levirate marriage; the legal line of Jesus was through King David’s son Solomon to his stepfather Joseph and the bloodline was through King David’s son Nathan to his mother Mary.
Psalm 69:8 and 12 give some insight into why Jesus would later be rebuffed by those in Nazareth, “I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.” “They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards”
When Jesus rode into Jerusalem in fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” to the very day prophesied in Daniel 9:25.
Psalm 22 was a nearly blow by blow description of the physical Crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” God could not look upon Jesus as Jesus was sin in our place. Here Jesus cried out to God rather than addressing God as Father or Abba as was His usual salutation.
The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem was prophesied in Micah 5:2, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”
Numbers 21:8-9 “The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” Fast forward hundreds of years to John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus had to be lifted up on a cross to cover our sins.
One website that I often share with others is http://mb-soft.com/believe/txh/proph.htm, “Prophecies that Jesus Christ Fulfilled.” These are laid out in a table format with headers; Subject, Old Testament prophecy and New Testament fulfillment. CM has taken us through statistical analysis of several of these proving beyond a shadow of a doubt Jesus was and is the Messiah.
