To me, Matthew 24:28 is about either partaking of a feast or being that feast 529-2 - 17 - 6

Matthew 24:27, “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
The glorious second coming of Jesus will be witnessed by most everyone across the planet with the advent of satellite TV. Christians who came to faith during the tribulation and survived will rejoice. However, very different for the unsaved. I would think that the agnostics would temporarily write off the second coming as fake news and for atheists and those who openly opposed God it will be a terrible recognition that they are lost.
Prior to the tribulation, living and deceased born-again Christians (The Church capitol C) were rapture and judged at the bema seat of Jesus. Those who survive the tribulation will be judged at the sheep and goat judgment.
But I digress, The second coming of Jesus will be as the tribulation is ending and involve several battles. Jesus will defeat the armies of the world creating a feast for the scavengers.
Matthew 24:28, “For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.” There will be no escaping judgment for the unsaved. The eagles or vultures symbolize impending judgments.
Here Jesus was talking to the disciples about the Coming of the Kingdom, confirming Matthew 24:28. Luke 17:37. “And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.”
And John bears witness, Revelation 19:17, “And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
The eagles or vultures are a type of the judgments of God which will be unleashed in the second coming of Jesus.
I believe CM put it somewhat this way that we could either be at the marriage supper or be food for the vultures.
Revelation 19:9, “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”  The Church is the heavenly Bride, a type of the five wise virgins whose lamps were well supplied with oil when the bridegroom appeared.
