Psalm 2 includes the Trinity 526-1 - 8 - 4

Psalm 2:1-3 “1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”

Rage, “a verb meaning to be in commotion, to rage against. This word appears only in Psalm 2:1 where it denotes the uproar and plotting of the wicked against the righteous. The image of a gathering lynch mob conveys well the action suggested here.”

A vain thing, “A masculine noun meaning emptiness, vanity, a delusion. It is used with a prefixed le to mean, in vain, uselessly. It stands for an imagined plot or plan that is a delusion, vain or something that is worthless It refers to professed help that is useless, vain before the Lord. Figuratively, it describes Israel being treated in judgment as an empty vessel."

Imagining, “a feminine plural noun indicating a thought, a plan. It refers to the ideas, imaginations, desires produced by a person while alive. Reference made to Psalm 146:3-4, “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."

I can almost see the Trinity in verses 1 and 2 scratching their collective head in amazement at what these foolish mortals plot in Verse 3. And the Lord is laughing, Psalm 2:4, “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”

Psalms 2:1-4 is very relevant today considering the extreme arrogance on the part of not only the former Obama administration but in the world in general as they attempt to marginalize God. Those in control have been warned by the Holy Spirit in Psalm 2:10-11.

Psalm 2:7-9 refer to the second in the Trinity, the son. Jesus has been given the heathens to the outermost part of the world.

Psalm 2:12, “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.” A bit of a reach to the Holy Spirit, angry and wrath deal with rapid breathing and kindled, consume by fire.

In searching through several sources of commentaries concerning Psalms 2 I found this summary and downloaded the book:

"Contents: The psalm of the king; rejected, established and finally reigning. Characters: God, Christ, kings of earth. Conclusion: The kings of earth are ever setting themselves in array against God and His Annointed King, but in the day when He conies those who will not bend will be broken. Infinitely wise is he who yields his life to Jesus now and dreadful is the folly of those who continue in enmity to Him. ey Word: God's King, v. 6. Strong Verses: 8, 12. Striking Facts: v. 12. Imagine mere man thinking he can make war on our Almighty God. It would be truly laughable if it weren’t for the fact that man is doing just that. More every day we can see that so many leaders throughout the world are doing Satan’s bidding. We are a microcosm of the cosmic war between good and evil. That said, we know how it will end because we have the Book.

Presenting the Trinity by using only the Old Testament 505 - 4 - 2

Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Genesis 1:2, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

Spirit, wind; by resemblance breath.

Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:….”

Genesis 3:22, “And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us,…”

Here Lord is yehôvâh, self-Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord.  However, in this passage as in verses 1:1 and 1:26 God is in the plural, in Hebrew three or more.

Genesis 11:7, “let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.” Notable is the use of the word us.

Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”

Here Lord is yehôvâh, self-Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord and God is in the plural.

Again Lord is yehôvâh, self-Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord. Anointed is Messiah. Notable is the use of the word us.

The above is my best effort made in a reasonable amount of time, several hours. So at this point I decided to download CM’s commentary, “The Trinity.” My effort is certainly lacking compared to CM’s.

CM listed many more verses and in CM’s unique approach suggested the following Conceptual Models:

“Power, intellect, will?

Body, soul, and spirit?

Motion, light, heat? (The sun, for example.)

Three tones blending into one chord?

Single ray of light, of three primary colors?

Water: solid (ice), liquid, gas (steam)?”
