· Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
· Genesis 3:22, “And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever:”
· Genesis 11:7, “let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.”
John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus Christ as the Word with God. Genesis 15:1, “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” The Word is also mentioned in Genesis 15:4.
Genesis 14:18-19, “Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying, ‘Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.’ Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.”
The mysterious Melchizedek is usually considered to be an early incarnation of Jesus Christ. Melchizedek was referred to as a priest and a king. There only three occurrences of priests and kings; Melchizedek, Jesus and the Church.
Genesis 18:1-2, “The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. 2 Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby.” Again the third man is usually considered to be an early incarnation of Jesus Christ.
Jesus was the seed of the woman in Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” This is just one of the hundred or more prophecies of the coming of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament and fulfilled in te New Testament.
