When will the destruction of Damascus take place? 519-2 - 7 - 5

Isaiah 17:1, “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.”
I rather expected the destruction of Damascus by Israel three years ago when they were mixing chemical weapons that had a short shelf life.
"Syria mixes chemical weapons for potential use in bombs, US source says" Published December 06, 2012
"A senior U.S. official told Fox News Wednesday that Syrian forces had loaded bombs with components of sarin gas, a deadly nerve gas. They have 60 days to use these bombs until the chemical mixture expires and has to be destroyed."

Since 2011 there’s been a civil war in Syria in which many thousands of people have been killed. This also created thousands of refugees who are currently overwhelming Europe, soon to be coming to/ have come to the United States. Interestingly enough, countries such as Saudi Arabia which is said to have unoccupied tent cities that could accommodate thousands of refugees refused to give them refuge. The Moslems don’t seem to want to provide their brother Muslims with any humanitarian effort. They cannot surmount the hundreds of years of hatred between the warring Islamic sects.
But I digress. As always, there is an agenda, an agenda I don’t totally understand; are Russia and Saudi Arabia engaged in a Proxy War in Syria? Russia started airstrikes against militants in Syria on September 30, “To help the Kremlin's main Middle East ally, Syrian President Bashar Assad, defeat Islamic State and other militant groups.”
The Russians claim that they are killing members of ISIS, in my opinion, a worthy undertaking. However I expect there is more than trying to eliminate the evil of ISIS in the Russian bear’s playbook.
As for when the destruction of Damascus take place, I was wrong three years ago when chemical weapons were being produced. Damascus has been “plundered by the king of Assyria” but not destroyed, so a future destruction of Damascus.
Bill Salus has an interesting take on Psalm 83, the Psalm of Asaph in his book. PSALM 83, The Missing Prophecy Revealed - How Israel Becomes the Next Mideast Superpower. This psalm is predictive of a future war between Israel and the “inner circle,” her enemies that border her.
Psalm 83:13-15, “O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. 14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; 15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.” So “stubble before the wind.” The destruction of Damascus?
Israel will be victorious and then dwell in peace. In peace until the Gog and Magog war. This implies that the destruction of Damascus will occur prior to the Gog Magog War. The Gog Magog War will involve Israel’s “outer ring” countries, those not sharing a border with Israel.
As an aside, perhaps this image of the Jobar neighborhood of Damascus is a preview of what’s in store for Damascus.
