Are personal or corporate prayers for a nation, an obligation of believers today? Absolutely! 510-1 - 4 - 6

The election in 2008 of Barack Obama was astounding. This was an individual little heard of until 2004, a freshman US senator from Illinois elevated to be the keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Obama was reelected in 2012 which seemed to me to be a near supernatural occurrence.
Towards the end of Obama’s eight year as POTUS the United States was in free-fall and an example of Isaiah 5:20, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
During Obama's time in office same-sex marriage was declared Constitutional and the exterior of the White House was lit up with the colors of the LGT rainbow, a perversion of God's rainbow. Obama greatly encouraged a confusion of sexual identification. A very outspoken and bullying group of Obama's minions seem to wield tremendous power within the United States.
Abortion even of viable babies was not only promoted as women's rights, baby parts were sold. The individuals who filmed Planned Parenthood employees quoting prices for baby parts are facing possible jail time.
Obama's disdain for Israel increased to the point where his administration further weakened Israel in the United Nations. God has been very good to the United States over the years due in large measure to our support of Israel. As our support of Israel weakened so did God’s hedge of protection from around the United States.
At some point, God loses patience. In the time of Ezekiel God was to that point. Prayers no longer softened God’s heart and He withdrew the Shekinah Glory from the Temple. In reading Ezekiel one can almost feel the divine grief as the cloud wavered and then moved away from the Temple.
“Ezekiel 9:3, The glory cloud (symbol of God's presence) leaves the holy of holies in the temple, grieved away by the idolatry of the people. The glory cloud moves to the threshold of the temple where its brightness fills the court.
Ezekiel 9:8-11 When Ezekiel interceded for the people, the Lord said that He would not spare or have pity. The people were saying that because the LORD God had forsaken them and no longer saw their plight, they owed no loyalty to Him. "The Lord does not see" sounds like a very modern quotation!”
[Believer’s Bible Commentary]
As soon as Donald Trump declared his intention to run for POTUS there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Many born-again Christians prayed and prayed that Donald Trump would win. An election of Hillary Clinton would continue the moral free-fall of Obama.
Prayer groups formed and all night vigils were held before the election. Donald Trump was prayed in as POTUS! In the 100 days since taking office President Trump has achieved positive changes, chosen a great administration, and nominated a Christian for the US Supreme Court, confirmed. Prayers are continuing for President Trump for his protection and the protection of his family and the administration.
Are personal or corporate prayers for a nation, an obligation of believers today? Absolutely, we may have prevented or at least postponed the further abandonment of the United States by God and His day of wrath.
