In Genesis 22, Abraham tells Isaac God will provide "Himself" as a lamb for the burnt offering. Make a list of at least three other places God is proclaimed to be a Lamb. 522 - 3-7

And here the operative word is “Himself” as only a pure and perfect sacrifice would be acceptable to a righteous God. After Adam and Eve took their infamous bite, God made them clothing from the fur of animals. This provided mankind with the lesson of the requirement of a blood sacrifice.

As the Israelites were preparing their Passover meal on the eve of their departure from Egypt they were told to mark their doorframes with blood from an unblemished Lamb. Through the death of Jesus on the cross, we are reconciled to God by Jesus, our unblemished Lamb.
Isaiah 53:7, “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”

Jeremiah 11:19, “But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.”

John 1:29, “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

John 1:36, “And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God”

John wept because no man was found qualified to open the seals on the scroll. Then in his vision, he saw the lamb that had been sacrificed. The only one qualified to break open the seal. Revelation 5:6 “And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.”

Revelation 7:17, “For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes”
The Book of Leviticus spoke to “The Burnt Offering”. For example, Leviticus 4:1-3, “And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering.”

When we stand before Jesus in the Bema Seat Judgment, our earthly activities will be burnt, Will they be gold and silver or Hay, wood and stubble.
