Why do I think “Agape Love” is growing cold in these end times? 503 - 3 - 2

Matthew 24:12, “And because iniquity (G458) shall abound, the love (G26) of many shall wax cold.”

G458 - illegality, that is, violation of law or (generally) wickedness: - iniquity, X transgress (-ion of) the law, unrighteousness.

G26 - From G25; love, that is, affection or benevolence; specifically (plural) a love feast: - (feast of) charity ([-ably]), dear, love.

Jude 1:4, “For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” True of today's Laodicea Church. Revelation 3:15-16, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

Perhaps Agape Love has grown cold because much of the world has lost its moral compass and awe of God. Jesus talked about discipleship, sadly lacking today. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus told his disciples “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” Also, John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

Apostasy? Perhaps it's more about the idols in our lives. Video games are very violent, they remove one from the blood and guts as well as make for isolation. As an example, I was working for McDonald Douglas Helicopter Company (MDHC) during Gulf One in the early 90s. MDHC was the producer of the Apache Helicopter that took out Iraq's radar right at the start of the so-called war. For a weeks there was a video running continuously in our cafeteria of those first few moments. You could hear the helicopter pilot and copilot seemed to be amused as they talk about all the Iraq’s running for cover. They were shooting them like fish in a barrel rather than having an awareness that these were human beings.   

The theory of evolution has reduced God's creation, man, to the status of an animal. There is little value placed on the unborn and millions are slaughtered in the womb every year. The very definition of marriage is between one man and one woman seems to be a throwaway. By their fruits they are known doesn't seem to really be of concern today. Two men cannot create a baby any more than two women can.

As to the question of why I think “Agape Love” is growing cold in these end time; well, we are in the end times. 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Timely then and timely now.
