What is the danger of Replacement Theology? How does this heresy impact world events in today's world? BIB547-1-4-3

The Church became anti-Semitic very early in its history and formulated the heresy of replacement theology. Replacement theology promotes the concept that when Israel rejected her messiah she forfeited the promises/ covenants made to her by God. These promises/ covenants passed to the Church which became “spiritual Israel.” The view that Israel has been replaced is a total heresy that is adhered to by most churches today.

Replacement theology is evil and against God’s Word and in my opinion those advocates of this corrupt religion are risking their eternal soul. By rejecting Israel the church runs the risk of rejecting the Old Testament thereby losing connection to our Jewish roots. Also, by rejecting Israel it was easier for the church to be silent during the Holocaust.

Here is how replacement theology is described on Wikipedia: “Supersessionism is a Christian theology that contrasts with Dual-covenant theology. Biblical expressions of God's relationships with people are known as covenants, so the contentious element of supersessionism is the idea that the New Covenant with Christendom replaces the Mosaic Covenant with the Israelites and Proselytes.”
God said to Abraham, “And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” (Genesis 17:7-8).” The Bible clearly shows that this was an unconditional and eternal covenant and God passed this covenant on to Abraham's son Isaac and his grandson Jacob and each time the covenant was renewed, it included their descendants, the Jewish people.

The concept of replacement theology marginalizes Israel and the Jewish people. This marginalization of the Jewish people allowed the world to turn its back on the Jews as the gas ovens were made ready and the fires of the ovens stoked. Replacement theology encouraged the torture and killing of hundreds of thousands of Jews during the Inquisition.

Throughout the centuries Jews have been scattered and nearly decimated. During the start of the 2012 Olympics Jerusalem was not referred to as the capital of Israel. Actually I think there was some talk that it was the capital of Palestine. The United Nations never misses an opportunity to demonize Israel. Israel is surrounded by enemies and it seems that even we in the United States are backing away from supporting her.

“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Zechariah 12:3

We in the United States should take heed to Jeremiah’s warning. God will take care of Israel; however, our country runs the risk of being cut in pieces by this burdensome stone.
