About that cycle of decline, bondage through abundance and back to bondage 508-1 - 3 -2

The Tytler Cycle
Bondage
Spiritual Faith
Courage
Liberty
Abundance
Selfishness
Complacency
Apathy
Dependence
Then starting over with Bondage
Bible believing Christians looking for religious freedom, liberty and opportunity immigrated to Colonial America. Some came to this country in bondage as payment for their passage and later some in steerage. This took great courage and many lost their lives.
With the passage of time came abundance for many as the north became industrialized, however, there were sweat shops in the North. The South’s industrial development was delayed due to a crippling dependence on slave labor.
Rather than working together cities often became a war zone between labor and management. Both sides selfishly protecting their abundance.
Complacency set in and people forgot their roots as history was/ is being redacted. Apathy set in and many became dependent on the government and voted for whoever promised the most freebies. There is a fine line between dependence and bondage.
Prayerfully this cycle is being broken in the United States with the election of Donald Trump as POTUS.
On a personal note, my family background is rather ordinary. One family branch arrived in Colonial America in the early 1600s. In doing family research I thought I came across one ancestor who came to America in bondage but later searches failed to turn him up. In bondage or looking for a better life they came to America. Perhaps my Quaker Armitage ancestors came to America looking for religious freedom only to immigrate to Canada after the American Revolution as loyalist to King George.
Two other ancestors marched to the defense of their towns during the American Revolution. Loyalist to King George or seeking to kick the British out, all were looking for liberty. Another ancestor fought in the War of 1812 to protect our hard won independence. Lots of farmers in my background who helped to settle this country.
