Winning the war and losing the victory 508-1 - 5 - 3

Recently graduated from high school my great nephew was involved in the 2004 battle for Fallujah. Sadly, his Squad Commander was killed.
Breaking Point: The Battle of Fallujah
The KIA include 23-year-old Lance Corporal Shane Kielion (search). He was shot by a sniper hours after his wife — back home in Nebraska — gave birth to their first child, a son she named Shane Kielion Jr.

Sadly also, the victory wasn’t lasting.
Remembering the Iraq War’s bloodiest battle, 10 years later
November 4, 2014
“The city of Fallujah was eventually turned over to the Iraqi government. It fell to Islamic State militants this January, as they swept across western Iraq. Nicholson said veterans of Phantom Fury have their own opinions about that, but are focusing the event this week on the sacrifices and heroism of those involved in 2004.”

Iraq: Fallujah is liberated, now what? 30 Jun 2016
“While the human cost, including the vast urban destruction and the large population displacement, is devastating, taking the city of 4,600km and 300,000 residents from ISIL fighters remains highly significant.
Yet, the most pointed question remains: What will the government of Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi do with its hard-won military victory in order to make it politically sustainable?”

Good question! So much blood shed by our military to get a foothold. I remember Vietnam and the so-called Rules of Engagement. If we put our military in harm’s way, we must support them and fight to win.
During the Obama administration our military was undermined by a POTUS more interested in a transgender and homosexual agenda then winning a lasting victory.
We now have a new administration; however, President Trump is being opposed not only by the libs but also the RINO and a shadow government.
